We designed this service to follow existing California Franchise Tax Board procedures, but we are not affiliated with or endorsed by the State of California or the FTB.

Not a CPA, Law Firm, or Tax Advisor: GetRefundFast is not a certified public accounting firm, law firm, or licensed tax advisory service. This service is not a tax preparation service and does not represent you before the Franchise Tax Board or any other government agency.

1. Service Description

GetRefundFast ("the Service") is a call facilitation service that helps you reach a California Franchise Tax Board (FTB) agent and walks you through their standard identity-verification questions, which can help reduce the time your return spends in the "processing" phase. We do not represent you before any government agency. We do not prepare tax returns, provide tax or legal advice, change any information on your return, or communicate with the FTB on your behalf as a power of attorney.

2. Eligibility

To use the Service, you must meet all of the following requirements:

  • You must be at least 18 years of age.
  • You must be a California taxpayer.
  • You must have e-filed a California state tax return and be waiting for your California refund to be processed.
  • You must be the taxpayer or an authorized representative to use this Service.

3. What We Do and Do Not Do

What we do: We help you reach a California Franchise Tax Board agent and walk you through their standard identity-verification questions. Completing verification may allow the FTB to move your return to the next processing stage sooner. Timing after verification is controlled entirely by the FTB and is not guaranteed by GetRefundFast.

What we do not do: We do not (a) guarantee that your refund will be expedited or issued on any specific timeline, (b) access, view, or store any of your tax return information, (c) represent you before any government agency or act as your power of attorney, (d) prepare your tax return, (e) change any information on your return, (f) provide tax, legal, or financial advice, or (g) hear or record your answers during identity verification — our agent leaves the line while you provide information directly to the FTB representative.

4. Payment and Refund Policy

Payment is processed securely through Stripe. Your service fee will be refunded in the following circumstances:

  • If we are unable to connect you with a live FTB agent during your scheduled call due to issues within our control (such as a phone system failure or scheduling error on our part). "Connected" means you speak with a live FTB representative, not merely that a phone connection was established.
  • If, after completing identity verification through our service, your refund processing timeline does not improve, you may request a refund within 30 days of your completed call by contacting support@getrefundfast.com.

To request a refund, contact support@getrefundfast.com within 30 days of your scheduled call.

5. No Guarantee of Results

While our service is designed to help expedite the processing of your California refund, we cannot guarantee specific timelines or outcomes. The State of California makes all decisions regarding the processing and approval of tax returns.

6. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for: (a) providing accurate contact information, (b) being available at your scheduled call time, (c) having the necessary tax documents ready for the call, and (d) accurately answering verification questions during the call.

8. Limitation of Liability

GetRefundFast is not liable for any delays, denials, or issues with your California refund that result from state processing decisions. Our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, GETREFUNDFAST DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. GETREFUNDFAST DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT ANY DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.

10. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration

Binding Arbitration: Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, including the determination of the scope or applicability of this agreement to arbitrate, shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered in the State of California. The arbitration shall be conducted by a single arbitrator in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA).

Class Action Waiver: YOU AGREE THAT ANY DISPUTE RESOLUTION PROCEEDINGS WILL BE CONDUCTED ONLY ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS AND NOT IN A CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION. YOU WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT OR CLASS-WIDE ARBITRATION AGAINST GETREFUNDFAST. NOTHING IN THIS SECTION SHALL BE CONSTRUED TO WAIVE YOUR RIGHT TO SEEK PUBLIC INJUNCTIVE RELIEF IN A COURT OF COMPETENT JURISDICTION AS PROVIDED UNDER McGill v. Citibank, N.A., 2 Cal. 5th 945 (2017).

Small Claims Court Exception: Notwithstanding the above, either party may bring an individual action in small claims court for disputes within the jurisdictional limits of that court.

30-Day Opt-Out Period: You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by sending written notice to support@getrefundfast.com within 30 days of your first use of the Service. Your opt-out notice must include your full name, mailing address, and a clear statement that you wish to opt out of arbitration. If you opt out, you and GetRefundFast agree to submit any disputes to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in San Diego County, California.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding not subject to arbitration shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Diego County, California, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

12. Force Majeure

GetRefundFast shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under these Terms where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: changes to FTB policies, procedures, or phone systems; government shutdowns or furloughs; telecommunications outages or disruptions; internet service failures; natural disasters; acts of war or terrorism; pandemics; labor disputes; or any other force majeure event. In such cases, our obligations will be suspended for the duration of the force majeure event.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via the email address associated with your account at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service before the changes take effect.

This service is not a tax preparation service and does not represent you before the Franchise Tax Board or any other government agency. GetRefundFast is not a certified public accounting firm, law firm, or licensed tax advisory service. We do not provide tax, legal, or financial advice. If you need tax advice, consult a licensed CPA or tax attorney.

Results and timeframes described on our website are estimates based on customer-reported experiences and are not guaranteed. Refund timing is determined solely by the California Franchise Tax Board, not GetRefundFast.
