Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use GetRefundFast:

  • Account information: Name, email address, and phone number (required for call scheduling and service communications).
  • Billing information: Credit card details and billing address are transmitted directly to and processed securely by Stripe. GetRefundFast never sees or stores your credit card number.
  • Usage data: Pages visited, features used, and call scheduling data to improve our service.

Information We Do NOT Collect

GetRefundFast does not collect, view, or store the following information:

  • Your tax return information or tax documents
  • Your Social Security number — you may be asked to provide this directly to the FTB representative during your call, but GetRefundFast does not hear, record, or have access to this information
  • Your bank account or financial account details

Call Privacy

During your verification call, our agent leaves the line while you provide personal information directly to the FTB representative. We do not hear or record your answers to identity-verification questions. GetRefundFast facilitates the phone connection only and does not monitor, record, or store the content of your verification conversations.

How We Use Your Information

  • To schedule and connect your phone calls
  • To send call confirmations, reminders, and calendar invites
  • To process payments through Stripe
  • To send you relevant communications about the service (e.g., annual tax season reminders)

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

GetRefundFast uses Vercel Analytics to collect anonymized usage data about how visitors interact with our website. This helps us understand traffic patterns and improve our service.

Vercel Analytics collects the following data:

  • Page views and navigation paths
  • Referrer information (how you arrived at our site)
  • Device information (browser type, operating system, screen resolution)
  • Geographic region (country/region level only)

Vercel Analytics does not use cookies, does not track personal identifiers, and does not follow users across websites. No personally identifiable information is collected through this analytics service.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate GetRefundFast. Below is a summary of each service and the specific data shared with them:

  • Clerk: Authentication and account management. We share your name and email address with Clerk to manage your account login and identity verification.
  • Stripe: Payment processing. Your payment information (credit card details, billing address) is transmitted directly to Stripe. GetRefundFast does not store your payment card details.
  • Twilio: Phone call connection and scheduling. We share your phone number with Twilio to schedule and connect your verification calls with the FTB.
  • Resend: Transactional email delivery. We share your name and email address with Resend to send you call confirmations, reminders, and other service-related emails.

Each of these providers is contractually obligated to use your data only for the purposes described above and to maintain appropriate security measures.

Data Retention

We retain your information for the following periods, after which it is securely deleted or anonymized:

  • Account information (name, email, phone number): Retained for as long as you maintain an active account, plus 30 days after account deletion to allow for recovery.
  • Payment and transaction records: Retained for 7 years after the transaction date as required by tax and financial record-keeping regulations.
  • Call scheduling records: Retained for 2 years after the scheduled call date for service quality and dispute resolution purposes.
  • Usage and analytics data: Anonymized analytics data is retained for up to 24 months. This data cannot be linked back to individual users.
  • Email communication logs: Retained for 1 year after the communication date.

You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. Certain data may be retained longer where required by applicable law or regulation.

Your Rights Under California Law (CCPA / CPRA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents have the following rights:

  • Right to Know: You may request that we disclose what personal information we collect, use, and share about you.
  • Right to Delete: You may request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions.
  • Right to Correct: You may request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
  • Right to Opt Out of Sale/Sharing: We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information: We only use sensitive personal information (such as your phone number) for the purposes of providing our service. You may request that we limit its use to what is necessary for performing the service.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

GetRefundFast does not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes. We only share data with the third-party service providers listed above, solely for the purpose of operating our service.

Data Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, GetRefundFast will notify affected individuals in accordance with California Civil Code Section 1798.82. Notification will be provided in the most expedient time possible and without unreasonable delay, consistent with the legitimate needs of law enforcement and any measures necessary to determine the scope of the breach and restore the reasonable integrity of the data system.
